This show we had all the three's with Dunnabrook, Sweet Pea, Firebird and Meadow Sweet !

However Shilstone Rocks North Westerly flew the flag for us, shown and produced by Lindy Calcutt

This has never been a lucky show for us except when we won the supreme M&M also the Lloyds bank with Shilstone Rocks Another Bunch (Elsbeth Furgason was judging) the mare went on to take a third at HOYS but that was many years ago and very memorable as we had our daughter Clair getting married the next day, it was quite a hectic few days!

Shilstone Rocks Snow Goose has just qualified for the Winter Championships at his first attempt he is produced by the Harrison Team and is ridden by Debbie's Harrison.

Shilstone Rocks Sweet Briar has had a terrific show season 2006.
Owned by Mrs Vanessa Windsor - Phillips and ridden by her daughter Henrietta.
NPS Ponies on parade first ridden winter champion, Mini Mountain and Moorland Championship East of England, Champion first ridden NPS summer show.

Shilstone Sweet Briar is full sister to the champions Shilstone Rocks War Lord, Sweetheart Bitter Sweet, Sweet Pea and Sweet Talk.

The first pony bred at our stud to qualify for HOYS 2005 was Shilstone Rocks EURO, owned by Mrs Travit and ridden by Sarah Challenor. What a wonderful job they have done with him. When they purchased they traveled down from the North and selected EURO for their daughter from a bunch of unbroken three year olds and it seems that they made a good choice.

Shilstone Rocks Hey Fury, Shilstone Rocks Ruahini and Shilstone Rocks Sweet Briar also qualified.

Shilstone Rocks North Countryman qualified for HOYS and for the second year he was placed 2nd.

Three Dartmoors qualified for Olympia 2005 and they were all Shilstone Rocks ponies.

Shilstone Rocks Snowfox qualified for Olympia yet once again (he did not contend for HOYS this year). Ridden by Heather Harrison he was best of his breed. He went really well and did a near perfect show but unfortunately at his final stand a very noisy trolley was pulled past him in the viewing area and he did not settle.

Shilstone Rocks North Countryman qualified Olympia Ridden by Debbie Harrison who rode him so well but unfortunately he was not very cooperative!

Shilstone Rocks Rough Day qualified for Olympia ridden by 11 year old Lydia Harris (the only child to qualify) in the veterans class which thousands of riders compete for and he was Reserve Champion in the final (a little Dartmoor among all the other types and sizes!)

He was Champion ridden less than a week after he had been out running with his mares! What a wonderful temperament he has he is a delight to own and we look forward to his foals (the first for us next year ) Debbie Harrison who as usual rode him to perfection, said he was going better than ever. Champion Novice and Reserve Supreme Champion ridden

Shilstone Rocks Sweet Pea : 1st Champion Young stock female, (she beat her sister!) and Ores Champion overall Young stock Champion to a three year old colt.
Shilstone Rocks Mountain Song was pulled in second but put down to fifth, I think she was not really fat enough, certainly compared to the ponies above her, however her colt foal by Shilstone Rocks War Lord (named Mountain King) won his class and ended up by being Champion foal for the second time and at his second show.

Shilstone Rocks Warrior, a bright bay gelding. Warrior with his mane platted and tail pulled won at his first ever show under saddle, he was first in BSPS Nursery stakes and went on to be second in flat ridden, not M&M you understand! I find this very exciting and proves the Dartmoor can hold its own among ponies of mixed breeding! Warrior is by the Champion stallion Shilstone Rocks War Lord. Warrior has been winning BSPS show Hunter Pony classes. (One of the old descriptions of the Dartmoor pony is they should look like a scaled down version of a middleweight hunter!) The best of Friends! Shilstone Rocks War Lord and Snow Fox

After the event one returns to Devon and one remains in Suffolk 1999.

In 1999 THREE Shilstone Rocks Dartmoors qualified

In 2000 FOUR Shilstone Rocks Dartmoors qualified

In 2001 FOUR Shilstone Rocks Dartmoors qualified

In 2002 SIX Shilstone Rocks Dartmoors qualified.

In 2003 Two Shilstone Rocks Dartmoors Qualified and Snowfox for the third time won his class and for the second time was Reserve Supreme Champion.

In 2004 TWO Shilstone Rocks Dartmoors qualified - Shilstone Rocks North Countryman was second in the flat ridden his first season under saddle! (28 Dartmoors qualified this year and Shilstone Rocks Dartmoors were among the most successful).

Shilstone Rocks Rough Mountain 1st and Champion WHP from all the other native breeds.

2005 Five Shilstone Rocks Dartmoors qualified.

2006 Two Shilstone Rocks Dartmoor's qualified and Snowfox was second.

I always think it is the qualifying that is really important. The final results are often a matter of luck with so many top class ponies there.
